I arrived safely in England yesterday. My flight wasn't too bad and I was in and out of sleep for the most part. I went through customs, got my luggage, and had to then take a 3 hour bus ride to Cambridge. I tried to sleep on the bus ride, but I wasn't as successful. Honestly, I was more interested in looking at the sites all around me. Around 3:30pm U.K. time I made it to the campus and got to my room that I will be staying in for the next six weeks. I will do a whole other post dedicated to the in's and out's of my room. The top two pictures in this post are different views from my room. We took a tour of campus yesterday and it was so fun and beautiful! I got to see the library and it was magical. Today was the first day of classes and it seems it is going to be a fun and interesting six weeks. I can't wait for my Shakespeare course tomorrow! I also walked around today with some fellow UNH students and I came across Waterstone's which is easily the best bookstore I have ever seen in my life!! It has 4 floors filled with tons and tons of books! As you can probably guess I was very excited and I didn't want to leave, but rest assured I will be back there many times over the course of this trip. Also the dining hall has three different tables and it feels like you are eating in a Harry Potter style room! Overall I am tired, but it's worth it to be in such a wonderful place! Onto more adventures!!
Dear Friends and Family,
Today is the day I leave for England. I've spent all day packing and running around trying to get everything in order for my over night flight. To me the U.S. will always be my home, but for the next six weeks I am going to be leaving my home country and will get to learn how other countries reside. I will be leaving behind my friends, family, and what is familiar, comfortable, and safe. It will be an adjustment going to new country and I will miss all my loved ones dearly. I want to thank everyone in my life who has helped me and supported me through this whole process. Without it I may not have had the courage to pursue this experience. Now is as good a time as any to go out and finally explore a different side of the world. Words cannot describe how excited, yet also terrified I am. I will try to post on here weekly about my life in England. Thank you all for giving me the push I needed to take hold of this new and awesome adventure! I will see y'all in six weeks!! Bon Voyage America! In two days I will be leaving for Cambridge, England to study abroad. This is my first time out of the country. I will be exploring the streets of London, Shakespearian plays at The Globe, and castles in Edinburgh. Come along on my journey!
